The house has a footprint of 142 square meters and is set over two floors and is connected to both mains water and electricity. The house is located on a street curb in a fairly recent neighborhood near the schools in Castanheira da Pêra. The plot of the property measures 257 square meters.
There is a remote controlled electric gate to enter the property to the rear of the house, and another pedestal door to the official front door of the house. The property is enclosed by a long wall with decorative iron fence on top, reaching breast level. Flower beds liven up the white painted low wall to the interior of the property.
All around the building there is a stone covered patio, offering a larger space to the official rear of the house. Here we have a mature olive tree and a medlar, a 'nêspera' tree.
The owners rarely use the official front door in everyday life; instead, they use the back door which is protected by a little terrace and opens into the double aspect, fully equipped kitchen, with space for a table to sit four people. The floor of the kitchen is of beautiful original terracotta tiles. From the kitchen we have a door to the cozy dining room with open fireplace. From the living room there is a door to the corridor.
The front door of the house opens into the l-shaped corridor. The double aspect living room is to the right, when coming in by the front door. To the left, there is a room used as an office. Up front we have the generous full wood staircase to the upper floor.
The corridor then does a left hand 90° angle and here we have the comfortable double aspect living room featuring custom made wood book shelves and cabinets on two walls. In the far corner we have an enclosed wood burner with forced ventilation. There is a double glass door to the veranda to the rear of the house.
To the left hand side of the corridor, opposite the living room, we have a door to a spacious bedroom with built-in wardrobe. At the end of the corridor there is a fully tiled bathroom with toilet, bidet, pedestal sink and bathtub.
The floors on this ground level are all tiled in terracotta style, except for the bathroom, which Is white, and the kitchen, which boasts natural terracotta tiles.
The centralized staircase takes us up to a very spacious den, which is currently used as another living room and which opens directly into a wide, l-shaped corridor. The first room coming from the living room is a fully tiled bathroom, with walk-in shower, pedestal sink, toilet and bidet. Turning around the corner of the corridor, the next room on the left hand side is a spacious bedroom. Next to this, we have a walk-in closet with plenty of space to store spare clothes and the like behind wooden sliding doors. The following room on the left hand side is another large bedroom.
On the left hand side of the upper corridor, there is only one door, which gives access to the very spacious master bedroom with en-suite bathroom. The bedroom has a built-in wardrobe.
The bathroom is fully tiled and has a hydro-massage shower, toilet, bidet and vanity basin with cupboard underneath.
The ceilings in this upper floor are slanted and neatly decorated with wood paneling and equipped with built-in lights. The floors in the bedrooms are wood, the rest is tiled in terracotta style. The windows are all high quality double glazed, with indoor wooden shutters.
Coming out the kitchen door to the rear of the house, and turning to the left, we find a spacious outdoor kitchen area with bbq and work surfaces to prepare meals for a larger group of people, who will all find space to sit and enjoy sitting at the long table, looking onto the stone covered patio. There is also a little building to store fire wood.
Next to the outdoor kitchen area there is a pedestal door to the garage, which has the vehicle access to the front of the house. The garage measures 4,60 x 3,05 meters.
In one corner of the property there is a shed used as a dog kennel.
The property is situated within walking distance of the center of the lovely little town of Castanheira da Pera . Castanheira da Pêra, is a council town where all amenities can be found. Its main attraction is the 'Praia das Rocas', a wave fun park. There are also a number of peaceful river beaches in the area.
